what's in a name...

YOGA MIA represents Yoga- Movement, Inquiry, and Awareness.

It's a space created to help you explore the practice of yoga.

And at the same time, it is something entirely YOUR OWN.

why this space...​

Because perhaps:
  • You've been curious about the positive effects of yoga on mental, physical and emotional well-being, and are ready for a taste
  • You've noticed that you're great at following along with "flows," but can't shake some nagging feeling that there's more to this practice you need help exploring
  • You're the opposite of the above. Flows leave you feeling lost in class and you want movement to make sense
  • You're not sure about the hows or the whys of your movements, etc. but you're ready for some embodied knowledge
  • You've discovered that you're paralyzed without an instructor, and would like the tools to be your own guide
  • You want a space that makes you feel like you belong regardless of where you are in your practice
  • You could simply use more ease, more movement, more presence in your daily life

  • Would like to connect to their body, mind and movements on a more mindful and meaningful level
  • Doesn't equate yoga with a rigorous workout
  • Is ready to move with more purpose and intention
  • Values diversity of movement in their practice
  • Understands that yoga isn't "one size fits all"
  • Is open to exploring a modern template of practice that blends evidence-based knowledge with traditional wisdom
  • Has ever felt unsure about whether they were doing it "right"
  • Has ever thought, "I'm not flexible enough" OR "I'm already flexible"
  • Has ever had to use Google research to be able to follow along in class
  • Has ever missed an opportunity to practice because they couldn't afford going to a class with a teacher, and didn't know what to do on their own
